Poetry, the Guitar Player

His eyes were dreamy,
distant as he strums,
the tenuous bands that
stretched against his fingers.

He gazed at them
as they had start to hit the drums,
the guitar trembled
in his deft right hands and lingers.

The guitar player plucked
his life in endless songs,
while in his home,
his wife awaits with renewed hope.

He bowed and smiled
at the happy throng.
But deep inside
his heart was sad,
trying to cope.

You see my friend;
the guitar player has a story.
His wife, his love, is sick
and down with cancer.

He needed all the money
for his wife’s recovery;
he has to play
until his fingers
bleed and conquer.

Poetry: Missing you

two lovers by the beach

I send this love note for you my love.
Let it fly across the stretch of azure skies.
Let it swim among the deepest reef barriers.
Let it walk along the desert ridges while it dries.

My heart pines for you.
Longs for your loving arms in the night.
Longs for your warm kisses and delights.
Longs for your soothing whispers in the candlelight.

Keep Smiling

Even when your heart is breaking, keep smiling.

When the dark clouds hover above you, covering

The sun’s rays, and seems to be gone forever, lamenting,

The fact that you’re gone forever and I’m crying.

Sadness...

Sadness is what I feel, when I thought of you today.

I feel confused, uncertain of what I have to say.

Do you truly love me or just your favorite toy?

To use and then keep out of sight, when you no longer enjoy?

Sadness engulfs me with an eerie stillness.

I tried to look for you amidst the gelid blueness.

To reassure myself that the love is still indeed a true perception.

Or is it just the product of my fertile and rabid imagination?

This Love...

This love is like a fountain, undaunted and unfeigned.

It wafts through closed door awnings and shouts in purple paint.

It’s flighty as a butterfly, but only when in the doldrums.

It soars up in the sky amidst the rainbow’s vibrant columns.

This love is like a turtle, so slow but oh so sure.

It creeps in virgin forests and washes away the burr.

It shines like brilliant light rays, amidst the sparkling rains.

It warms like ginger-clover to compliment sand’s grains.

Alone in the Dark

Alone in the dark

mutilated, reaching out,

spiraling into the dark abyss

desperately clawing for a lifeline.

Miasma of dreams

snatches of memories,

out of the hippocampus, reeling

drowning the light.

The struggle for life,

grasping, reaching out desperately

at last straws of hope

unfettered and unwilling.

Darkness fades

she comes back to life;

homeostatic, self-therapy

the will to live and shun aloneness

A Gentle Touch

Gossamer wings settled on my distended abdomen.
The germinal seeds of life squirmed as I start to bend.
And listened to the stillness of the joy that it portends.
I gently touched you and the angels uttered their "Amens".

The room abounds with lurking white gowned shadows.
I touched you once again as pain turned into countless sorrows.
The brackish sweat has washed away the blood in my cold brow.
I had to howl when you broke forcibly into my hallow.

I touched you gently by your side and lingered.
You wailed - and for a gentle touch - you hungered.
I laughed as you sucked heartily on my little finger.
The Calvary now gone with your ensuing laughter.

You'll always have my warm caress and gentle touch.
I promise you my baby; I'll provide a secure mulch.
I'll always be here when you're in a lousy crutch.
I love you son,and you just don't know how much.
