I also like Ray comment, for I find if a subject does not have any appeal to me, I simply don't take part.

I can think of a number of time at work when I was conversing with a customer, and they continued to present too much information. It manages to sidetrack or confuse the conversation. Keep them coming! To Ray, yes, I would also like to hear about Friedeman's theory; that's a new one for me. I think Jessie and PurpleGreenPops are tapping into a similar issue because the extensive use of abbreviations in IMing certainly speeds up communication--and that's what younger communicators seem to prefer. If you look, for example, at the length of television commercials over the last ten or fifteen years you will see that they have become progressively shorter. This certainly implies that our attention span as viewers (and probably readers, listeners, etc.) is becoming shorter too. We want instant gratification in everything--including communication.Patriciahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08599725587514470536noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170342134247787720.post-64798014018776751232009-01-11T10:04:00.000-08:002009-01-11T10:04:00.000-08:00A job well done, Patricia! In this age of sound bit...A job well done, Patricia!

In this age of sound bites and headlines, more and more, I believe communication will be brief and short. She seemed simply to want to listen to herself speaking. When we were with clients I was just desperate to get her to shut up. I agreed with most people that she and her ideas were very clever, but that she was very difficult, if not impossible, to work with. In the end we had to part company. It was rather sad really.jakillhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/02811710431280544637noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8170342134247787720.post-10268882657985908712009-01-09T03:17:00.000-08:002009-01-09T03:17:00.000-08:00Hi Disturbed stranger,I'm glad you liked the t...Hi Disturbed stranger,

I'm glad you liked the topic.
